New York Productions is a professional PA sound and lighting company based in Sunderland, North East England. We have a great team of people very skilled in sound, lighting and many other facets of the entertainment business. Although based in the North East we operate Nationally and in every area of the UK.
Over the last 5 years we have seen massive changes in this industry and we have moved forward to encompass the requirements of this technologically hungry world in which we operate and now have the most advanced equipment that money can buy. We are one of the largest companies of our type in the North and supply a wider range of services than most companies of our size in the UK. We are virtually a "one stop shop" for event services.
We were established in 1994. At that time we were mainly supplying sound systems to the music industry and for the most part heavy metal rock bands - all over Europe with Helloween and having our ears blown apart with Little Angels for weeks. These days we cover just about everything including lighting, transport, back line hire, outside stages, stage set design, video projection and screens, plasma screens, installation of sound and lighting, equipment repairs and PAT testing, power distribution, event management, health and safety advice and did we mention that we also supply sound systems to cover crowds of over 100,000 people. New to us is media art - the new art discipline with large scale video projection systems and screens.
The scope and diversity of our services are expanding and with this has come the need for more space. The move into a new 11000sq ft warehouse this year has meant that we can now operate more efficiently and our trucks can be secure inside when fully loaded ready for an early start the next morning. We have recently had a complete IT overhaul for the Newcastle Council online tendering department and operate a secure computer system - this is so important when dealing with confidential information. Our in house IT guru Paul has developed a new booking program that tracks all events and equipment.
Who we have worked for:
We hire our PA systems and lighting to some of the most respected companies, houses of worship and artists in the UK and all over Europe. Over the years NYP has supplied equipment for some of the biggest names in show biz from Oasis to Postman Pat (and his cat)!
The Tall Ships Race (Gateshead) back in 2005 provided the opportunity to get most of our equipment working at the same time as we provided all stages and stage managers, lighting, generators, sound equipment, back line equipment and even some instruments for every stage throughout the whole week. We've never looked back since.
Charities are always given help where possible with our main contribution going to the Children's Hope Foundation. We have supplied many other major charitable events with NSPCC, Save the Children Fund and Children in Need with the BBC. We have supplied equipment to nearly every Council, theatre and University venue in the country including the Royal Albert Hall and the Royal Festival Hall in London. Nothing is too big or too small and some of our best work is with small charities, community groups and we do support new local talent. Every job we undertake is as important to us as it is to our customer.
